Steve Atwater was the man!

Look what he did to poor "35 Days to Go" Christian Okoye:

I hate the Broncos but that was pretty impressive.

Poetry...Gets 'Em Every Time

Sometimes I like to reminisce with Lauren about the good old days in our relationship. Our "courtship" period.

I would come home after a hard day of work of flexing my eyebrows and gelling my hair to smoke my corn cob pipe. Lauren would carefully fold up her cat sweater and put it back in her closet full of other cat sweaters. And then we would sit by the fire and listen to the radio. Good times.

The perfect couple. Yep, me and that pipe.

The picture above was from a Christmas party from a few years ago. I liked this picture so much that I framed it and gave to Lauren as a present. Because that's how I roll. I give Lauren pictures of myself as presents.

More importantly, along with the picture I included a poem by one of my favorite poets Pablo Neruda. Besides having an awesome name, Mr. Neruda also packed a punch with his prose.

The particular poem I included is called "If You Forget Me". I won't include the whole poem here, just the last part, which is usually the best part of all poems.

************************

If each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

The Opposite of Good

Some people have a way with words... and some people just don't have way. This guy is somewhere in the middle. The lower part of the middle. Actually, he's pretty much at the bottom.

Holy cow! Where's the Sandman when you need him?

I'm expecting some huge toasts at our big day. DO NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!!!!!

Oh, sorry. My caps lock was stuck. Do not disappoint, please.

'Tis the Season...for Wolves!

Here's a picture of some members of the wolf pack before we started a feeding frenzy.

Feeding frenzy or Christmas party, either way.

Wolf pack, always on the prowl no matter the season.

I'm guessin' this moose had a really bad day.

28 Days to Go!

If I were clever I'm sure I could come up with a play on this movie's title. So instead, enjoy these cute bunnies!

Long Distance Love

I spent the fall semester of my senior year at Mizzou in London, working an internship and clumsily trying to figure the exchange rate in my head. It was a great time.

Lauren and I communicated all the time. Through phone calls, email, and IM chats, we were always able to stay close even though we were thousands of miles away.

Blah, blah, blah. Enough sentimental talk. Plenty of that in store at the wedding.

Because Lauren is super-cool, she saved every single bit of mail that I sent to her during that time. I thought it would be neat to share these with you to give you a glimpse of what was going on in our world during that time.

Here we go!

Stylin' and Profilin'

It's always cute to see a couple riding around on a tandem bicycle.

Slowly pedaling away from Death's cold grasp. Or pedaling towards an Early Bird Special.

Good for them! They're so happy! They're pedaling together!

Big freaking deal. I'd be more impressed if they were on a unicycle.

No, where the real action is are recumbent bikes. Sleek, stylish, close to the ground. You feel cool. You look cool.

Check out these dudes:

Lauren just doesn't get it. She doesn't understand the history and culture of recumbent bikes. She probably never will. What a shame.

The grandfather of modern recumbent bikes - Arvid "Wheels" Spfilhuffer.

So when you pass your local recumbent bike wholesaler, just keep on going. We don't need 'em!

Next Question, Please

Lauren and I didn't meet on a game show, although we probably could have or should have. It's actually one of Lauren's biggest regrets in life.

What show would be the best fit for us? Love Connection? First Date? The Dating Game?

The Dating Game seemed to work out OK for Napoleon Dynamite precursor Andy Kaufman.

Man, that guy was amazing. But so is this picture:

Game, set, match. Us.

Lauren and I always get the last laugh.

TMNT 4 EVER!

One of Lauren's favorite shows is Law and Order. All of them. The original, Special Victims Unit, Criminal Intent, the whole lot.

SVU (yeah, I'm hip to the lingo) stars Christopher Meloni as a hard nosed cop who isn't afraid to bend the rules to get the perp.

Looks normal, right?

Mr. Meloni has plenty of experience in crime fighting. He played Casey Jones in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie! This film shaped my entire life!

Huh? Wuh?

The class is Pain: 101. The instructor is Casey Jones.

If only all fights in movies had orchestral flourishes as great as this clip, the world would be a better place.

32 Days to Go!

32 is...uh...it's...well, it's pretty popular.
